Mission One Million Fruit tree Planation

Speaker of Odisha legislative assembly to to Inaugurate “Mission one million fruit tree planation” in Odisha on 4th August, 2019
The Climate Reality Project India foundation -the country outfit of the US based global climate intelligentsia led by former Vice President, US & Nobel laureate , Mr. Al Gore, currently presence in 185 countries across globe , a leading global voice on climate change has partnered with One Tree Planted9OTP) , USA/India Sustainable Green Initiative Itl., ,the SPARSH Odisha of J K Paper Mills ltd. & Sri Sri University to kick start a new project called “Mission One Million Fruit Tree Planation” in Oidsha , by the honorable speaker of Odisha legislative assembly, Dr Surya Nayaran Patro on 4th August , 2019, in Pipili block of Puri district .
Among others former minister and present MLA, of Pipili , Shri Pradeep Moharathy, S N Mohanty Group & CII Odisha Chairman , Mr Pradeepta Mohanty , the Country Manager Climate Reality , India Mr Aditya Pundir , Country CEO OTP & Sustainbale Green Initiative Mr Rajmohan, Prof. P. S.Subbarao, Dean, Management studies of Sri Sri university scheduled to be present on the occasion
“Aiming to plant 10 million fruit trees in Odisha by 2030, we have got the commitment of one million fruit trees from One Tree Planted, USA to be planted in the state of Odisha during next two years in FANI affected communities for a sustainable restoration of livelihood, nutrition and environment of disaster victims . In the mission, we aim to cerate minimum 7000 fruit orchards in the besides to benefit one lakh households with five to ten trees to produce 7500 metric tons of fruits in four to five years’ time which will generate massive Agro processing and marketing value chains and employment for the people. The Project will be implemented in active collaborations of corporates, industry bodies, NGOs , CBOs and local NGO networks.
The project is to kick started on 4th August to be dedicated to people of Odisha who are aspiring to become a trillion $ economy with suitability by 2036 when Odisha will be 100th year . “India has targeted to plant 1000 crore plants by 2030 to combat climate crisis. This may look small compare to the target but to begin the actions on that directions” said Mr Pundir , the Country Manager , the Climate Reality Project India. This mission is first of its kind in the country which has integrated five SDGs together. nutritional security, climate resiliencies, environment, water & sanitation and health is linked to this mission . This can bring a lasting transformation to Odisha’s agriculture hit by climate change since last many decades, Said Mr Raj Mohan .
